Maha Village is a residential apartment complex situated in a quiet yet central part of Uvita. The beach is only 10 minutes walking distance as are many other amenities. The complex comprises four buildings with two apartments in each. One upstairs, one on ground level. Each unit measures approximately 100sqm. The aim of the project is to provide an option for residents to enjoy the design and amenities usually found in high end tourist resorts. The open layout lets residents cohabitate in common areas and form their own village. Each unit also provides ample outdoor area that provide privacy for it´s residents. The complex has a generous pool that is located in the center of the “village” and a courtyard with ample endemic flora both shared by all residents. The complex also provides an elevated level of security.
Uvita matured from a sleepy surf/whale-watching stop into the service hub of Costa Ballena: more year-round residents (including families and remote workers), sturdier retail and banking, better connectivity, and a busier, better-known national park next door. Growth has been real but measured—constrained by protected areas, topography, and infrastructure capacity—so the town still feels small and “local” compared to flashier Costa Rican beach resorts, even as its tourism profile and amenities have clearly leveled up.
